PETER: Seeing that Erict needs a moment to rest, and that the tunnel is full of people, Peter stays put. He says, "Erict, take a breather. We need to let the tunnel empty out before we can go down. Shooter, fire at any of them that poke their heads up. I'll get a message to ROCK to let him know the plan." Then he focuses on Rock and tries to make telepathic contact.

If successful he'll pass on the following commands, *Rock, this is Sterling. We're going to pull back. I don't want to be a target for artillery or air strikes. Since you can see through things, keep an eye on the invaders. If they start to try and flank us, fire at them, even through the grass. If you hit they'll think it's a lucky shot. When the tunnel between you and me clears of zho, drop in, close the opening behind you, and pull back to our position. Oh, and don't be shocked - I'm disguised as a Zho officer. Treat me civilly, but cooly.* He will keep the link open to receive a response.

MACK: Mack looks at Marko, nods his head, gives a low whistle, and let's out, "Sheee-Yit!. Whatever, Marko. Whatever."

MACK: Mack watches the zho move towards him slowly carrying their injured comrade. It'll be a few seconds before they get to him, but he figures he'll cross that bridge when he gets to it. There are still two invaders standing and Rock is exposed, but Mack knows Rock can see them. He's not as sure about Shooter, but at least he's not sticking out on point. Up above people are falling down and getting back up, and Mack hopes Erict lasts long enough to heal himself. Mack targets his final shot, he hopes, for this battle.
