ISOBELLA: Isobella calls out, "Don't touch the shadows, just touching them will drain you." She moves with the group and dodges any further shadow attacks without counterattacks.

JACK (GM): I also vote for option 4, I think it's what we all had in mind for this type of running battle where we're being harried by difficult to target enemies.

JACK (OOC): Remember to use the mind link, not yell ;)

JACK: {Drain you? What are the symptoms, sickness or weakness or numbness? ((i.e. what stat is being drained)) You actually managed to make physical contact? Good to know, it might be worth it to me to take a drain hit if I can clobber one hard enough to put it out of the fight for a while.}

ISOBELLA: {Nausea, after touching it I almost lost my lunch}

ISOBELLA (OOC): Con drain, as best as I can describe.

DEX
Ianna
33
IANNA: Seeing the shadow appear in front of Isobella, the captain tried to affect its molecular structure.

TECH: Combat Aportation on Shadow 1, OCV 12 vs DCV 8?, 15- [rolled 13], [rolled 1 6 4 3 3 3 2 - Total: 22, Body: 7] NND damage, END 7

END: 39
STUN: 37
BODY: 12
Isobella

Curt
26
CURT: Curt will just continue to move with the group. Keeping on eye out for any possible attacks.
Tal
23
TAL: "This will help for a little while - let's move while we can."

TAL: Activate Block: FW (10 PD/10 ED; 6" long and 6" tall) (Alterable Size); Shaped like a bubble around the group and enclose as many of us as possible.
Jack
20
JACK: Jack moves slowly toward the bridge, trying to lead/find the way for the rest of the group, and holding half his action to react to something happening near him.

TECH: I figure 2" movement at best in these conditions.
Dasan
20
DASAN: {"Shooter, you can start falling back to the bridge. I will take a shot at this thing with the stun pulse and see if it is more effective than it was on the bugs."} Dasan will take a shot at the shadow on Shooter and hold his movement action to see whether Shooter.... and the rest of the group start to move for the bridge. If the group starts moving he will keep with them.

DASAN Tech: stun pulse, offensive shot OCV 11 DCV 6 [rolled 9] if hit damage [rolled 5 5 1 6 4 2 4 4 4 3 4 4 6 5 1 5 - Total: 63, Body: 16] stun only, costs 6 end.
Shooter
20
SHOOTER: Uncertain as to what effect it will have, and not wanting to touch the strange shadow, Shooter draws his Colt Manhunter and shoots.

TECH: Overall Combat Level in DCV (DCV 8), OCV 11 [rolled 16], Damage 3d6K Penetrating [rolled 1 6 2 - Total: 9, Body: 3], KNB [rolled 12]

Colt Manhunter - Clip 1 at 6/6, Clip 2 at 6/6
Marco
23 or 18
MARCO (GM): You indicated that I can sense them with Mental Radar, does that mean that Mental Radar is always active? Or, would it take a round to activate?

MARCO (TECH): Mental Attack, [rolled 13], Target and attack the nearest shadow with Mental Entropy [rolled 1 1 (1) - Total: 3, Body: 0]

GM: Mental Radar is a sense so it is normally always active. However, I just noticed that you have the "Cost Endurance" limitation on there so it is not always on. You need to spend 3 END each time you use it. So, for this attack, you spend 3 END to activate Mental Radar, and another 6 END for your attack, for a total of 9 END. You also need to send a 3d6 attack roll for the Mental Entropy to see if you successfully hit.
SHADOW
24
The group moves cautiously forward with Shooter and Dasan scanning the darkness for the shadowy creatures. None fly near Shooter but one flies very close to Dasan. Dasan blasts it with his Stun Pulse and hits it but there is no visible reaction by the Shadowy creature. It continues to fly by. Dasan has no idea if his shot had any effect at all.

Similarly, Ianna uses her Combat Aportation dusruption attack on it. She is certain that her targeting of the attack was on the mark but there is no sign that it had any effect on the creature.

GM: I moved the group forward on the map though it may be difficult to tell as I closed in the reveal behind the group. Jack does not reach the edge of the platform this phase.

GM: I assume the group's plan is to simply move forward as best as they can. Will Shooter and Dasan continue to try to shoot at the shadowy figures as they fly by? What about if, as happened to both Shooter and Isobella, a creature stops directly in front of them.

JACK (GM): If one stops near Jack, or flies near enough that he thinks he can get a quick Sacrifice Strike off, he will try it, using pretty much all of his strength to try to make it count. He will be aware that they may be insubstantial and won't lose his balance and stumble forward on his follow-through, though.

DASAN: {Two shots into this incounter, I have to ask, has anyone been attacked by one of these > things directly? From this point on I will hold my attacks until someone is attacked by the shadow things. My laser cannon seemed to stop one, but at at least I did not get affected by the attack. If these things are defensive in nature I may have to find a way to appoligize later.}

JACK: {They attacked Isobella and Shooter, the former dodged and the latter has a strong force field that stopped the attack from doing any damage. If they wanted to communicate they would have done so by now, even something as simple as a "Halt who goes there?" would get me to pause. If they had flown up to Isobella and Shooter and stopped like that -without attacking-, I could see them as trying to make first contact, but they definitely attacked.}

IANNA: {Let's keep moving. I'll try to assist in the defense by disrupting their molecular structure though I'm not sure if it'll have any effect.}

DASAN: {If you can use ranged attacks cover the the people near you. I have my side covered. } Dasan will continue to move with the group and will fire on the shadows if one attacks him or some one near him.

DASAN Tech: stun pulse, offensive shot OCV 11 DCV 6 [rolled 13] if hit damage [rolled 5 1 3 3 5 6 5 3 4 6 5 3 3 3 6 3 - Total: 64, Body: 18] stun only, costs 6 end.

TAL: (GM) I recall in an earlier post that Tal had raised his forcefield, wrapping it around the group like a bubble. It should be easy to spot since I think I put the wrong turn/segment in the subject line. The question is, is the forcefield up, is it stopping the shadows from getting near us, and are they trying to break in?

GM: I remembered this, but then forgot to include the effect when I sent the turn. Tal successfully puts up his Force Wall bubble around the group. However, the Shadows fly right through it as if it wasn't there.

At the end of turn 1, phase 2, two Shadows fly out of the darkness, through the Force Wall and stop directly in front of ??? and ???. It is now turn 1, phase 3, let me know what you want to do.

GM: Can someone take a look at the map and see where they stopped? I updated the map yesterday and can't remember who they are attacking.
