Subject:Battle for the Hive - Aftermath
The noxious fumes of the insecticide bomb still linger long after the effects have taken their fatal toll on the buggems. They began dropping within seconds of the bomb going off and the last of them died within a minute, either killed by the insecticide, or by Rosin, Rock, Cal or Shooter finishing them off when they were took weak to move. The smaller cloud of the drone has also started dissipating but the group uses Shooter's Life Bubble to ferry everyone through the cloud. More dead buggems litter the intersection, and the tunnels leading north and south. To the south, the noxious fumes mix with aerial dust and debris from the explosion that has not settled yet. From here it is difficult to say how much of the hive has been destroyed to the south. The entrance that the group used may or may not still be available. Most of the dust seems to be coming from the direction of the egg chamber so it might be that the group's entrance is still open.

GM: Let me know what the group wants to do now.

MARCO: Takes a count of the dead - but waits to move with the team before counting those not in LOS.

PETER: {If I'd known those grenades were going to be so effective, I'd have said we should use them earlier. We have what, two of them left? That should give us a safety net and allow us to head downward. No matter what lies we were told about this place, I can't imagine that there are *that* many more buggems here. And there still are villagers we may yet rescue. So if everyone's fit to move, I say we continue onward and downward.}

ROSIN: {We want to get at many buggems as we can with each one, so I think you timed it right. I think the insecticide is more effective here in the tunnels where there's no wind to blow it away. At any rate, I'm up for pushing on.} Earlier thoughts of retreat were gone, this group has proved itself worth staying with.

ERICT: {We have just one left, it took quite a bit of persuasion on your part to get even two, since that was all the village had left. I agree with Rosin that we timed the use of the bomb well, if we'd used it any earlier we probably wouldn't have caught those late arrivals, even if it would have been nice to get that drone or some of the others that bypassed us in order to defend the egg chamber. Is anyone besides Rock hurt more than a half minute's rest will heal?}

ERICT (OOC): Technically everyone should be fine on Stun before we move just from recoveries and post-phase 12s since it takes us almost a minute to bypass the cloud, but Erict could spend the time and effort to do one of his heals if anyone needs it. I am trying to balance realism and roleplaying concerns with the fact that I have limited quick healing that can work on a given day. If we don't need it right now, I shouldn't use it, since we might truly need it later. I will make one attempt to heal Rock's Body damage before we move out, since I've already healed him today 9 points of effect (rounded down to 8 since Body is 2 for 1), I would need to roll 10 or higher to get that last point. This is a group healing ability so if anyone needs it, speak up and join in.

TECH: Heal 2.5d6 Body, 3d6 stun drain side effect. Need 15- Paramedic roll activation, [rolled 11]. Effect is [rolled 1 1 (1) - Total: 3, Body: 0] Body, minus the 8 points used to previously heal 4 body today. Stun drain side effect is [rolled 9].
BODY: 14/14, STUN: 36-roll/36-roll, END: 36/56

ERICT (OOC): Oh my. It would seem the diebot officially hates us again for the time being. At least the side effect was fairly small, I'm tempted to try again, given we're taking at least 30 seconds to get past the gas field. What the heck...

TECH: Try #2. Need 15- Paramedic roll activation, [rolled 13]. Effect is [rolled 2 5 (1) - Total: 8, Body: 2] Body, minus the 8 points used to previously heal 4 body today. Stun drain side effect is [rolled 12].
BODY: 14/14, STUN: 27-roll/27-roll (36 max), END: 26/56

ERICT: After two attempts Erict looks worn out, though he puts a brave face on it. {Was worth a shot anyway, sorry Rock. When we're ready to spend a bit more time recovering and resting I will try some of the longer term heals, but that's all I can do quickly enough to keep our momentum as we invade the hive.}
BODY: 14/14, STUN: 15/15 (36 max), END: 26/56

ERICT (OOC): It looks bad, but don't worry, it recovers quickly at 5 per turn, so almost immediately I'll be at 20/20 and ready to move when the group is.

ROCK (OOC): Keith, I'm not sure I'm following the minus 8 stuff. Was Rock down 4 BODY recently? AFAIK, Rock was only down 1 BODY following the last battle and is now down 1 BODY. I could check the rule book but your first roll should be more than enough to heal 1 BODY on Rock. Maybe I'm missing something though.

GM: I concur with Marty. Rock took 1 BODY in the first battle with the buggems today, and took another 1 BODY in this battle.

ROCK (GM): So the explosions came from the egg chamber? Do we sense any activity in any of the tunnels? Or is everything quiet nearby? Do we have any collapsed tunnels nearby?

ROCK (OOC): I agree we should continue to find the hostages. If the MMBB is here to kick the queen's butt then great. Let's use the distraction to succeed at our rescue.
