Jack receives the normal email from Serene with the radio encryption code attached. He downloads the binary file into the radio and calls the group at the prearranged time.
JACK: "Veronica, Chase, Simon, come in please. This is Marcus."
VAMPERINA: "Hi Marcus. We're all here." You exchange pleasantries for a couple of minutes and then Vamperina says, "We had another very good month of mining in January. Our running total is just over 81,000 kg so we will easily get to 90,000 kg in February. However," she continues, "we've decided that we are going to stay up here longer. We appreciate that you worked out a deal with Serene so that we can leave after 90,000 kg, but we are honestly doing well up here and earning good money so we've decided to stay."
JACK: "Well, I still object strongly to the way they sent you up there, but since they have honored the rest of their agreements I suppose I can't ask you to give up a good job that you enjoy. I still want to talk every month though, just to make sure everything is still ok.
VAMPERINA: "Believe me, I'm not happy about the way they sent us up here either. Are you going to contact Serene about continuing these monthly radio calls?"
You chat for a bit longer, with Jack telling the Vamperina that he will contact Serene about continuing the monthly contacts.
GM: Let me know if anyone else has anything to say. Otherwise the contact ends. |
