By the end of May you have made a number of new contacts. Thinking ahead, you focus some of you efforts on the anticipated needs of the group. You successfully make contacts with a few people who are responsible for administering license tests and issuing both private and commercial starship licenses. You are unsure as to whether you could offer bribes to these contacts to issue licenses without passing the tests but you do feel that you can use these contacts to expedite the process. For example, there might be a 2 week wait to take a particular license test but you think you could pull some strings to get the test administered much sooner. Similarly there might normally be a processing delay of a week or more to issue the actual license but you think you might be able to use the contacts the expedite the process and possibly get same day or next day licenses issued.
JACK: Sounds pretty good.
JACK: Given that Serene hasn't been actively messing with us, I think I can get a little less paranoid and go out with some of the old contacts I've been failing to see during my normal socializations. I still won't be dating, just in case, and I won't ask them to look into Serene or anything. I spent a little extra money these past three months to 'catch up with old friends'. Let me know if any of them are missing and I should get concerned. Has Captain Damien DuPont been back since I last tried to reach him a few months ago? If not, that might be cause for concern enough to look into it.
GM: You learn that the captain has been back but has since departed again. None of the others are missing. |
