GM: Since Indigo Baron, White Lady and Violet Duchess are all on the right side, I will assume that Iron Duke is on the left side with Green Knight.

As the buses pull up and begin discharging their cargo of scabs, the mood gets even uglier. The crowds begin chanting and shouting. Verbal abuse is heaped upon the temporary workers and the supervisors who meet the buses. As the protesters begin to surge forward against the concrete barriers, the police shout for them to back up. The mood is very ugly.

Suddenly, above the din, a shot rings out and one of the supervisors escorting the scabs suddenly drops. That appears to be the signal for total pandemonium. A group of protesters near the right-most bus surges forward, pushing the heavy barrier out of the way. Protesters begin pouring through the opening and attacking the police and the unfortunate scabs who are getting off the bus.

GM: Everyone can send me a PER roll. Violet Duchess, Indigo Baron and White Lady can send me an additional PER roll. There are range modifiers based on each character's position so if you have range modifiers for PER rolls, let me know what they are so I can factor them in.

GM: Green Knight, Iron Duke, Violet Duchess and White Lady all hear the shot ring out but can't tell where it came from. Indigo Baron hears the shot and also sees the shooter on the roof of the building near to where Violet Duchess is currently located. He can see the shooter clearly enough to target him with a ranged attack, but not enough to make out details other than that he is armed with a rifle.

GM: Go ahead and send me your turn 0, phase 12 actions.

VIOLET DUCHESS: With the shot ringing out, Violet Duchess prepared herself for conflict. First order of business, disappearing from sight. Once hidden from the crowd she ripped off her disguise. *Anyone spot the shooter?* she asked discreetly into the secure radio comm.

GREEN KNIGHT: Like the rest of the team, Green Knight is wearing a disguise and is not in his secret ID. He activates both Strength of the Bear and Leap of the Deer and, with a short running start, hurls himself into the air in the direction of the buses. His intent is to land in front of the left-most bus. As he is sailing through the air, he rips off his outer coat to reveal his Legion uniform.

TECH: Activate Strength of the Bear (2 END) and Leap of the Deer. 18" full move (4 END). Using 32 of his 34 point MP.
TECH: Attack roll to hit target hex. 11 + 8 OCV - 3 for Hex - 6 for range = 10 or less to hit [rolled 8]

WHITE LADY: When the action started White Lady shifted into high gear. 'Wasn't expecting a shot, but the breakthrough was expected', ran her thoughts. She changed to ice to protect herself from the crowd, then absorbed the heat from the ground where the crowd was breaking through the barrier. Water vapor condensed and froze, leaving a thin layer of very slick wet ice covering that section. 'That should slow them down,' thought White Lady.

WHITE LADY (tech): Change from speed 2 to speed 5 which brings END pool recharge to combat setting. Activate Ice Form (armor) 5END. Ice Sheet (4" radius, -4 Dex roll to stay standing), centered where it will cover the break through area, AC 8 [rolled 9] to hit DCV 3 + range hex 3 END. End reserve = 120 - 8 = 112;

GM: Send me a PER roll to see if she can see the breach area well enough to target it. Range is 20".

WHITE LADY: I placed her to where she'd have a good view of where problems were most likely to happen. The map was down earlier to today when I tried to look. Per roll [rolled 9], Even if she can't tell exactly where the problem is, she'll settle for an approximate area. It's a good sized ice sheet after all.

WHITE LADY (GM): Where we issued any sort of communicators (walky talkies, push to talk cell phones, etc.)?

GM: Yes, when you are in Legion uniform, you have short range, encrypted headsets for communication.

WHITE LADY: Pulls out headset and slaps in on head. "White Lady checking in."

IB: Activate powers; remainder of action depending on what he saw (or didn’t see).

GM: When you say activate powers, I assume you mean your Mighty Atom form (6 END). Are you also going to move? Remember that Indigo Baron is the only one who sees the shooter (although he doesn't know that he is the only one).

IB: (GM) Yes, you are correct, I’m activating my Mighty Atom form. He will also move in the direction of the shooter, and call out over their comm link that he has eyes on the shooter and is in pursuit.

IB: “I see him!! I see him!! I’ve got eyes on the shooter, he’s at location <fill in the blank> and I’m on my way there!”


VD: Is this over the radio? Does Duchess have enough info to guess where the shooter is? She can act on her next action and I just need to know if she can guess that moving to the roof matches what she's learned.

IB: (OOC) Yes, this is over our secure communicator. Of course, the people standing right next to IB might overhear him, but that doesn’t overly concern me at this point.

GM: Indigo Baron and Violet Duchess can both attempt INT rolls. If both make it, then Indigo Baron's description is enough for Violet Duchess to know where the Shooter is located.

VIOLET DUCHESS: INT 12- [rolled 11]

VIOLET DUCHESS (OOC): We should use ** to indicate radio comms instead of normal "".

GM: I have not yet received a turn for Iron Duke so I am going to assume that he will change into Legion uniform and fly closer. Clay, I seem to recall you were having problems with Maptool. Would you like a simple image file showing the battle area?

Violet Duchess removes her disguise. takes a couple of steps backward to get out of the crowd and turns invisible. A couple of nearby protesters witnessed her actions and continue to watch the visual abnormality that marks her location even after she disappears. One of them shouts out, "HEY, THERE'S A MUTANT OVER HERE!" Other protesters turn to look.

VIOLET DUCHESS: (Great), she sighed as some of the protestors called her out. She focused her mind on imagining herself up on the rooftop nearby.

TECH: Used held action to full move teleport 10" to rooftop, ENDR: 2


Green Knight activates his Strength of the Bear and rips off his disguise. With a few bounding steps, he vaults over the crowd and lands in front of the left-most bus.

Iron Duke removes his disguise and leaps into the air, moving towards the buses and looking around for threats.

GM: Iron Duke can send me a PER roll.

White Lady removes her disguise and sends a blob of ice lobbing over the heads of the protesters to land in the area of the breach, where it spreads out to form an ice sheet. Immediately, footing becomes very treacherous in the area.

Indigo Baron leaps into the air and changes to Mighty Atom form. He flies towards the shooter on the roof. His disguise falls from his now shrunken form. He covers over half the distance to the shooter but does not reach him this phase. Now that he is closer, Indigo Baron can see that he matches the description of the man that Iron Duke saw as the group was freeing the hostages in the previous adventure. He appears to be a large black man with massive black wings that are currently folded behind him. He is armed with a large sniper rifle.

The shooter sees him coming and fires at him.

Black Eagle, OCV 8 vs DCV 12, needs 7- to hit [rolled 8]. No range mod due penalty skill levels. Damage [rolled 3 2 6 (+1)- Total: 12, Body: 4] RKA, Stun [rolled 5].

GM: Black Eagle misses Indigo Baron.

GM: Violet Duchess still has an action remaining.

Seeing one of the supervisors shot before their eyes and mutants suddenly appearing in the crowd, the police put 2 and 2 together and arrive at 5. Clearly they assume the mutants are the ones who shot the supervisor.

The policeman near White Lady aims his gun at her and fires. OCV 5 vs 6, needs 10 or less to hit [rolled 8]. Damage [rolled 3 6 - Total: 9, Body: 3] RKA, Stun [rolled 1].

GM: White Lady gets hit once for 0 BODY and 0 STUN after PROT. KNB is [rolled 10]. White Lady is unaffected by the hit.

None of the police fire at Indigo Baron as he is too far away and too small a target for them.

None fire at Violet Duchess as they are not fully aware of her presence.

GM: The policemen miss Black Eagle.

Meanwhile, many of those who were pouring through the breach are now busy trying to stay upright on the sheet of ice. Others, however, begin to jump over the barriers.

SILVER CHANCELLOR: Silver Chancellor's voice comes over the group's headsets, *I'll get word to the police that you are on their side, but it may take a couple of minutes.*

GREEN KNIGHT: A couple of minutes, Green Knight thinks to himself. That's about an eternity too late.

GREEN KNIGHT: As the policemen fire at him, Green Knight shouts out, "I'M ON YOUR SIDE! I CAN HELP THE GUY WHO GOT SHOT IF WE GET HIM ONTO THE GRASS!"

GM: Violet Duchess is on a lower section of the roof and can see Black Eagle on the highest section of the roof a short distance away.

GM: Go ahead and send me your actions for turn 1, phase 3. Maptool has been updated and should be accurate. Iron Duke will need to use a half phase action to recover from aerial knockback.
