The Into the Void campaign starts in the year 2050. The population of earth is over 9 billion. There are settlements on other worlds in the solar system, with the largest being on the moon and Mars. Massive biodomes makes such settlements possible as well as the discovery of water on both worlds. Settlements can also be found on some of the larger asteroids as well as some of the moons of Jupiter and Saturn; notably those with subsurface bodies of water. Other settlements and outposts also exist as well as many secret outposts operated by various militaries, corporations and organizations of questionable goals.
