Rule Name:License - Ship's Gunner
To get a job as a Ship's Gunner, the character must have a commercial license.

There are two possible certifications, one for Rockets/Missile Weapons and one for Energy/Beam Weapons.

If the testee does not have a two transport point familiarity with Starships, then they will not pass the test.

The weapons simulator test requires 20 pairs of die rolls for each section. Each pair consists of a Systems Operation skill roll for the appropriate weapon (i.e., Systems Operations - Rocket Weapons) and a DEX roll for actually hitting the target. Note that only combat skill levels can be used for the DEX roll. If the Systems Operations Roll is failed, the shot automatically misses.

The testee is allowed to retake any one section of the test in an effort to improve their grade. User the better grade of the two for the section that is retaken.


Each test costs Cr400. Each certification costs Cr400.

If the test is failed, it may not be taken again for one month and the test cost goes up to Cr1000. If you wait six months to take the test again, then the cost drops back to normal.
