Rule Category:Starship Design
Rule Name:Getting to a Jump Point
After departing an inhabited world, a ship must travel beyond the gravitational influences of any other planetary body before it can jump into hyperspace. For the sake of simplicity, use a distance of 30 million kilometers. Most inhabited worlds will have a small space station at established "jump points". This is the location where ships jumping to this system will arrive if they use standard star charts without variation. It is easily possible for astrogators to chart a course where they will arrive at a system, but not near an established jump point.
